Untamed Petals Hair Accessories

Aug 5, 2010

Here at Capitol Hill Style, we love accessories designer Emerson Made and her whimsical floral designs. But recently, a soon-to-be-married co-worker turned us on to Untamed Petals, a similar retailer with accessories perfect for the blushing bride.

I love these flirty floral hair clips.  After all, I am a sucker for sparkles.

Encrusted Lily Comb ($84)

This Double Band Crystal Halo/Headband is the perfect bridal accessory.  No wonder it’s a best seller.

Double Strand Headband ($135)

The site features a wealth of belts, crystal encrusted hair pieces, floral clips and much more.  The designer also has an adorable blog called The Lovely Department that is sure to fill a dull afternoon.  And who says brides have to have all the fun?  Stop by the Etsy shop and see if there is a piece perfect for you.

They are expensive! Remember that those with tight Hill budgets follow you!

These are mostly bridal accessories, so for that occasion they are not terribly pricey. The same thing at Hannelore’s will set you back $200+. And while I understand the tight Hill budget better than most, not everything on the site will be intern price range friendly. I cater to those with small budgets frequently, but sometimes, it’s not possible.

Not totally related to this post, but I did buy the Goody “Modern Updo” pin last night. And, it works! My CVS only had the blonde spin pins and I’m a brunette, so I went for the updo pin. It’s basically a giant bobby pin and will work your hair into a modified french twist. I have bra-length, thick hair. And, it works! My hair is also heavily layered, so it’s tricky to make sure pieces aren’t sticking out but it is possible to put my hair up with a single one of these suckers. Win! (Although, I did have to redo it a few times today to keep it tight.)

  4. Thanks for the super sweet post Capital Hill Style!

Just wanted to chime in about being “expensive” as I actually think my price points are very much lower than most stores I have seen who have pieces that were manufactured (not hand crafted). I personally hand make each piece with the highest quality materials available such as Swarovski rhinestones and crystal beads (not cheap plastic beads like some) and work very hard to keep my prices as low as possible. That’s all… just wanted to share a little background on why some pieces may be priced higher than others on the market. 🙂

If anyone has any questions or should need anything please feel free to reach out!

Best wishes to all you brides out there!

    xoxo

You should also check out https://sashasamuel.com/ She makes really awesome vintage inspired stuff that sparkles. One of her designs was even in the SATC2 movie!

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
