Delsey 21″ Trolley Carry-On (Lord & Taylor, $120)

We’re going to do something a bit different today for Three Ways.  I get a lot of reader mail about packing for short trips.  Too many women pack way too much when they travel, and frankly, it’s annoying.  So prepare for Three Days instead of Three Ways.

Belle, I'm so looking forward to this three ways post! I am traveling to the district for the first time in several years next month for a long weekend (Veterans) and I am having the most difficult time narrowing down the shoes to go in my carry on… I want to take my flat boots, my high heeled boots, a pair of pumps, a pair of flats, and maybe my running shoes… Unfortunately if I take all of these I don't think I'll have any clothes to fit in my suitcase 🙁

  2. Maharani says:

I follow the 3 pair rule-wear 1 pack 2 (one of these my exercise shoes) and just deal with it! It can be a lot of fun to pack light and still look decent.

  3. CynthiaW says:

I wish that you would have posted this yesterday! Although, I think that I did okay – I got everything into a 21″ carryon, plus my tote and I didn't even have to unzip the expander. Having to pack a coat added an extra challenge though.

  4. Ms B says:

    BOY!!!!! Do I need this!!!!

  5. C says:

    Can. Not. Wait.

I have a compulsive overpacking problem, and I annoy MYSELF with it. Thank you in advance!

  6. D says:

Great timing! I leave tomorrow night for Florida for a couple days!

  7. Amy says:

Why get annoyed over other people's over-packing? Just don't worry about it!

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
