Belle's Weekly Favorites–October 29, 2012

1. Dior Le Grand Bal Nail Lacquer in Red, Pearl and Gold ($26) and in Black Shimmer ($26) // 2. Seam Waist Dress ($100) // 3. Jimmy Crystal Shadow Cuff ($163) and Kenneth Cole Cut-Out Cuff ($48) // 4. Premium Longline Biker Coat ($350)  // 5. Raven & Lily Gold Shoulder Tee ($35) // 6. River Island Door Knocker Earrings ($11)

One. This Dior Le Grand Bal Nail Lacquer is so unbelievably chic, I would buy it just so I could display the bottle on my vanity.  Plus, the colors–shimmering gold, pearly white, ravishing red and sparkly black–are classic and chic.  The only tough decision is figuring out which one to buy.  All of them?  (Seriously though, if you want the black (Diva), I would buy it soon, it’s selling out everywhere).

Two.  There’s nothing like a hot, red party dress to get things started.  This dress from Topshop has a flattering silhouette and could be jazzed up for a holiday party or worn under a navy blazer in the spring.  If you’re looking to define your waist, this is the dress for you.

Like red for holiday but not this frock?  This red lace dress is lovely, and this strapless peplum dress is just $30.

Three.  In the winter, I wear a lot of long-sleeved dresses.  To accessorize them, I also wear a lot of bold cuffs.  I like the black and cutout details on these cuffs because it gives them just a bit of edge.  Looking for something similar? I’m also digging this leopard print bracelet and this architectural cuff from Vince Camuto.

Four.  This coat is strikingly gorgeous.  I love the asymmetric zipper and the high collar.  Plus, I’m a sucker for a white coat.  (Before you jump into the comments, it really isn’t that hard to keep a white coat clean.  Just spot clean regularly with Woolite and a dry white cloth, and it will like great for weeks between dry cleans.  And that’s coming from a girl who rides Metro.)

Other white coats that caught my eye, this Metro Coat from J.CREW and this cool coat with military buttons. Need something under-$100?  Try this coat from C. Luce.

Five.  I adore this t-shirt.  The soft grey color with the gold foil detail is definitely of the moment.  I would tuck it into a grey skirt, add some cool gold earrings and wear it to dinner with friends.

Six.  I wanted to add a pair of cool earrings to this set, and when I saw these black enamel door knockers, I knew they were the ones.  They have interesting details, but are still timeless.  Like the door knocker shape, but want something similar?  This pair from Macy’s is a reasonable $38.

That red dress is FABULOUS. I have a ton of LBD's in my closet, but never thought about adding a bright red one, and a flatterig one at that. For the holidays, this is perfect. Thank you!

So much for not spending money on clothes this week. I also had to get the red dress. I hope it fits.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
