Lanvin Crystal-embellished silk faille gown ($8,380)

Ladies, it’s time to bring the glamour.  This Sunday is the Golden Globes, the official start to awards season.  And as usual, I will be liveblogging the red carpet arrivals starting at 6:00PM EST.

 Technically, this is a wedding gown, but it’s pretty incredible, so it would probably be right at home on a red carpet.  I love the fitted bodice, the draping, the chiffon trim and, surprisingly enough, the giant bow. (I know, I’m shocked too.)

If you’re looking for a similar dress–Inauguration is right around the corner–this berry-colored gown has a flowing shape and decidedly smaller bow, and you can rent this modern one shoulder with tiny bow at the waist.

I searched the Interwebs for “Golden Globes cocktail” and turned up this tasty looking libation called a Wistful Winslet.  It contains Beefeater Gin, pink grapefruit juice, simple syrup and champagne.  I’d need to sub out the gin for vodka, but it still looks like a deliciously diverting way to spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon.
