10th Commandment: June 10

By far and away, aviator sunglasses are my favorite.  They flatter most face shapes, and they’re nice and light.  I also like them because aviators fit into your wardrobe regardless of whether your style is preppy, glamorous or casual.

I totally agree! And it’s true for both men and women. I had a guy friend once tell me that he thought he’d look dumb in them, and I was like “are you kidding me?” Then he put some on and looked like a total bad ass. Aviators ftw.

Haha, I was the same way. I didn’t think I could pull them off but my BFF handed me a pair and said “Wear these. Would I ever lie to you?” So I went with her recommendation and have liked them ever since. I’m really picky about the lens shape though.

How do you pick out a color for sunglasses? Especially if you’re cheap like me and only want to buy one pair for summer.

    • Belle says:

Well, I thing black is too severe on most people. So if you want resin, I think brown is best. If you’re talking about aviators, I say go with a classic and choose the dark grey or dark brown lenses. Save the blue gradient or greenish color for someone else.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
