10th Commandment: Memorial Day Sales 2014

May 23, 2014

As with every holiday weekend, there are a lot of great sales this weekend.  So if you’d rather shop than camp or go to the beach, then do not miss this weekend.  Here is a list of some of the best sales:

Barney’s New York Wrap Front Surplice Dress ($99)

Barney’s Warehouse is offering an additional 30%-off site wide.   The dress above has a summery orange color and a fun print.  I also found this cute DvF dress in black and white print.  I also like this pale pink blazer with contrast black trim; it would look great with a black pencil skirt.  This grey, gathered tunic blouse is a versatile pick as well.

Bloomingdale’s has a sale you don’t want to miss.  The sale has an excellent selection of dresses, I especially like this simple black Jones New York black dress and this bright, printed Anne Klein dress.  But the best part of this sale is the handbags, there are some lovely purses on sale.  This $95 Kate Spade cross body in soft metallic is calling my name.

Charm and Chain.  Need jewelry?  Get 20%-off with code SHOPSTYLE.  This KJL silver and gold coin ring is fabulous.  I love this necklace with a woven ribbon in shades of blue and green.  And do not miss these lapis earrings, they are superb.

Additional sales include Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Calvin Klein (with code MEMORIAL14).  So if you have some shopping to do, do not pay retail.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
