hmprod-1H&M Lace Yoke Top ($10)

This adorable jersey top with a crochet yoke comes in this pink/lavender color, turquoise, black and ivory.  It will look fantastic layered under blazers and sweaters.  It also eliminates the need for a necklace.

I also found this blush top at Dorothy Perkins.  Though, if you prefer sleeves, you should check out this white H&M top with a lace yoke or this black, mixed-lace top from Express.  I also found this 1.State top at Nordstrom that has a v-neck and lace insets.

What a find with that H&M top! I may have to stop by the store today…

They also have it in Mustard in the Georgetown store! I picked one up this weekend.

  3. Rachel C says:

I love this top. But I have two quick questions:

    1. How is H&M’s sizing? I am either a small or medium depending on cut at GAP, Banana, Jcrew and Loft.

    2. This isn’t specific to this top, but what in the world do you do about bra straps showing? And, in the case of the ivory, the straps of a cami? I just ordered a fantastic shirt from Banana, but the top is sheer so any cami or bra show straight through. I love tops like this, but I don’t want to look trashy with my straps showing. At the same time, no cami and/or a strapless bra isn’t overly practical for a light, “comfy” work shirt.

    • Anna says:

For this kind of top, you’d have to go strapless. For some, the pattern is tight enough that a bra in your skin tone or the color of the top would go unnoticed. For sheer blouses, I don’t think seeing a cami looks trashy as long as the bra straps aren’t noticeable. It’s just another layer, not underwear.

  4. Laura says:

I actually just bought this top last weekend in ivory. I wear it with a padded bralette that has very thin, cami-like straps. They’re virtually unnoticeable under the shirt.

Here’s the bralette I have (very comfy): https://www.target.com/p/women-s-seamless-bralette/-/A-14928858#prodSlot=medium_1_3&term=bralette

(But I do have a very small chest, so strapless might be the way to go if you need more support.)

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
