Looking for a delicious fall cocktail that can serve any size group, requires no fancy ingredients and is sure to please?  Look no further than Dishing Up the Dirt’s Apple Cider Cocktail.  I can’t wait to make it this weekend.

Old Navy Sweater Dress ($40)

A simple sweater dress for casual days is one of my favorite fall looks.  This dress from Old Navy comes in four great colors.  This cashmere dress from Bloomingdale’s is not to be missed (in three colors).  And I adore the dramatic cowl neck on this Alfani dress with button-detail on the hem.

Petite?  This Jones New York a-line sweater dress is lovely.  Plus-size?  This printed dress from Trixxi is kind of adorable.

Happy Hour

  1. That alfani sweater is gorg, and I just bought the perfect scarf to go with that Old Navy dress.

  2. Shannon says:

I love wearing these kind of dresses too in the fall but always worry about my legs getting cold! what would you recommend to wear with these?

    • Anna says:

Tights or leggings and tall boots. I especially love wearing my black leggings with a chunky black and white sweater dress I have and boots. It feels like I’m wearing my lounge around clothes but looks way better.

Dishing Up the Dirt’s website won’t load! Any chance you could post the recipe?

I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
