Aldo Halifax Satchel ($55, also in black)

When choosing a brown satchel, I tend to look for a darker color: camel, cognac, chocolate, etc.  Lighter hues tend to get dirty or scuffed to easily.  A color like this pairs well with many spring and summer colors (pastels, navy, white, brights, etc.), and offers some cover from general wear and tear.

I also found this Neiman Marcus satchel with a really unique shape for under-$50.  I also like this sleek Liz Claiborne satchel that looks like a more expensive Michael Kors bag.  This inexpensive Merona satchel is also one of the best looking bags I’ve seen for sale in its price point.

Looking for a more relaxed style?  This slouchy bag from Sole Society is a tote/satchel hybrid that bridges the gap between work and casual.

If you’d like a lighter bag, this Sole Society satchel is a good choice.  It has some fun details and a good price.

I purchased the Neiman Marcus satchel and loved it so much I bought another as a backup. It’s the perfect size and goes with everything. My only complaint is that the handles could be a little longer for wearing over your shoulder but it comes with a longer strap as well.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
