Ask Belle: Belle’s Favorite Rollers

May 4, 2015

Hi Belle,

Are you still using curlers to style your hair?  I’ve never used hot rollers before so I’m looking for my first set.  Do you have a favorite brand?

Best, Mae

I use my hot rollers every day.  They’re a huge time saver.  My hair basically does itself while I put on makeup, iron my clothes, and eat breakfast.

My favorite brand set of hot rollers is this Jilbere set from Conair.  They’re a medium-large size that gives lift and curl.  If you just want a little lift, this Jumbo Conair set is the way to go.  Need a tutorial on how to use them?  This post from Oprah.com can show you how.

Prefer beachy waves?  A friend raves about the Sarah Potempa Beachwaver.  It rotates with a push of a button for quick, even curls.  They also make an attachment that gives the body and smoothness of a professional blowout with a curling iron.

If you have a favorite time-saving styling product, leave it in the comments!

I am not ashamed to admit that I use my mom’s Conair hot rollers that are circa 1985 or 1986. Older than I am and they still work great!

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
