1) What we can learn from women who break the rules and fall apart. (The New York Times, book review)

2) This $29 bi-stretch twill dress from Target is shockingly chic.  I also love the hemline on this Merona sleeveless sheath.

3) How to make the most of liking your job but hating your boss. (The Everygirl)

4) This simple, suede skinny belt from WHBM is perfect for dresses or over cardigans.

5) If you earn six figures, it’s likely you have virtually no savings. (Bloomberg)

6) These Sole Society mushroom-gray tall boots must be mine.  Also, their Daphne booties are perfectly sleek.

7) With Brangelina calling it quits, it reminded me of this profile of celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser. (Jezebel)

8) Fall weddings, this $88 Charles Henry off-the-shoulder dress is a good pick for a not-quite-winter dress.

Any take on the quality of Sole Society shoes? I’d been eyeing a few styles (mostly the Jenn pump), but haven’t pulled the trigger.

I have multiple pairs of Sole Society shoes – flats, booties, heels, and boots and I love them SO much. I usually get the same pair in all the colors they come in. They seem to be good quality (the boots for instance are not equal to Frye that last year after year with new soles but are equal to Sam Edelman quality — Although, I much prefer Sole Society for their comfort and fit). I’ve never had an uncomfortable pair of Sole Society shoes. They also fit true to size. With Nordstrom, of course returns are free and easy, but if you order directly from Sole Society they often have 20% coupons. I usually get my first pair from Nordstrom to make sure they work out for me, and then buy the rest of the colors on Solesociety.com. I would make the plunge, it will probably be your new favorite brand. I hope this helps!

    • Belle says:

Decent to good quality. They’re not ideal for every day wear if you walk a lot. One pair I had held up beautifully through 2-3 days a week wear. One pair was not in good shape after just a few wears. I buy them from Nordstrom, so if they start to give out after a short time, I can return them no problem.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
