Tuesday Shoes-Day: Ann Taylor’s May Pumps

May 23, 2017

Welcome to Tuesday Shoes-Day, the new feature where I show you a pair of shoes that’s captured my heart (and probably my credit card).  For our first pair, we have these fabulous, simple Ann Taylor May patent, block heels ($128 + discount).

These simple spring/summer shoes are extremely versatile.  Jean, from Extra Petite, wore them to our brunch date last fall and ever since, I have been lusting after them.  So I am so, so very glad that Ann Taylor restocked them.

The heel height is a demure 2″, but all the better to walk in, I say.  These shoes are very comfortable.  However, when you’re breaking them in, you will need some Pre-Heels spray or chafe balm on your toes.  The front strap needs some break-in work before you really put them to the test.  After that trial period, though, they are good to go.

If you need a bit more heel, Ann sells a very similar shoe in a 3.5″ heel.  Also, if you’re not into the chunky heel, they have a kitten heel in a thinner stiletto.  I own these as well, and they’re almost as comfortable and just as versatile.

Land’s End has a remarkably similar shoe at a lower price point, for folks with a smaller budget. https://www.landsend.com/products/womens-heeled-ankle-strap-sandals/id_306742?sku_0=::HME

I love AT shoes! The quality is excellent and for the most part they are true-to-size and comfortable. I have bought six pairs this season. As long as you are a little patient, you can get them between 30-50% off during a sale.

I love that this is a block heel that isn’t too chunky. I find the block heels that are wider at the base so visually unappealing. These aren’t even super thick. Almost all of my clothes are from Ann Taylor and Loft…pretty soon all my shoes will be too.

You can get the shoes right now for 50% off with the code ‘Mystery50’.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
