BPGP: L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara

Feb 19, 2010

Last weekend, I decided to try yet another new mascara.  Forget the fact that the bottom drawer of my vanity is starting to look like a mascara graveyard.  This time it was L’Oreal’s Telescopic Explosion Mascara.

What can I say?  They got me with the round brush.  I’d seen Givenchy’s Phenomen’eyes but wanted to give the round brush a whirl in a Hill Staffer friendly price range.

First, let me say that I will never buy another L’Oreal mascara.  This is the third one that I have tried and I hate the formulation.  The fluid is way too liquidy and viscous to do anything for those of us with anemic lashes.  Having your lashes stick together is not my idea of a good look.

Second, I wanted to give the round brush a real test run so I cleaned it off and used some Lash Injection mascara instead.  While the round brush did reach the little lashes in the corners better than a straight brush, I still didn’t prefer it to the thicker wand.  It just didn’t have the surface area needed to lengthen the lashes the way I wanted.

If you have thick lashes and just need to seperate and define, this might be the mascara for you.  Otherwise, skip it.  I’m still hoping Max Factor will start selling in the U.S. again.  I miss you beloved 2000 Calorie Mascara.

The best thing for lashes – Mac Prep and Prime followed by their zoom lash mascara. I curl my eyelashes, pop on a little primer, mascara and then run through with an old (clean) wand and tada longest lashes ever without the goopy clumps. It’s fantastic. I even use the primer with cheaper mascaras and it works wonders.

    Blinc Kiss Me mascara: https://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P46017

Best mascara ever. Lengthens and thickens. Doesn’t smudge, run, smear, streak, flake, blah blah blah. Seriously worth it.

i second the post about bare escentuals lash definition. after going through chemo, my eyelashes were thinning/falling out quickly, and this formula has helped build them back up, so now, even when i have no mascara on, my lashes are thicker and longer than they ever were BEFORE chemo.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
