Airport Greeting Cardigan (Modcloth, $55)

My favorite thing about shopping is when you find a piece that looks way more expensive than the price on the tag; this cardigan is such a piece.  It has oodles of style, a slightly rocker, slouchy vibe and it is THE sweater to wear on the chilly train, plane or automobile.

Basically, if you told me this cardi was Mike & Chris, Vince or Bailey 44, I would believe you. No one will guess that it’s Modcloth (unless, they also read this blog).

And, on a personal note, I love that it is long enough in the back for those of us who are long torsoed.

What's the general quality level of items from Modcloth?

  2. Amy says:

I find that it varies because Modcloth carries items from a variety of different brands. I would pay attention to the reviews buyers post about items as well as reading what kinds of fabrics are used. etc… I've gotten really pretty, well-made blouses and a fantastic jacket there, and I've also bought a couple things that were disappointingly flimsy and cheap-looking. Overall, I've been pleased with most purchases, though.

I ordered this immediately upon seeing it.

Belle, do you own this sweater? How is the sizing?

  5. Kit says:

Wow! As someone who is both tall AND long-torsoed, I'm always on the look out for tops that are both cute and long enough. This is fantastic and reasonably priced. It will be mine!

  6. MS says:

Wow, they made this in charcoal? I remember this was on my wishlist back when they made it in deep hunter green — it looked like a winner then, and it still looks like a winner now!

  7. Beth says:

I would be all over this if it wasn't dryclean only. :/

  8. X says:

This is terrific, can't wait to own it! Thanks Belle

  9. Larissa says:

Aww it's sold out now. 🙁

I have been dying to find something like this with an asymmetrical zipper/closing. Made me think of this (https://pinterest.com/pin/69665125456085135/) which I also love. If you find anything similar – let me know!

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
