Diane von Furstenberg Meeson Dress ($135)

Instead of three items today, I opted for just one.  This dress is a great basic.  It also presents the rare opportunity to own a piece of DvF for less than $150.  And if black isn’t your thing, it also comes in navy and red.

The simple shape, work appropriate length and sleeve (Lord knows, I love a sleeve) make it a good choice for many wardrobes.  You could add lots of accessories (maybe a statement necklace and ring?) to make it appropriate for cocktails and dinner dates, or keep it simple with a belt and pumps for the office.

Want something similar for less? Good, because I found some lovely options.

This Eddie Bauer dress has 3/4 sleeves and a flare skirt.  This dress brings the drama with an asymmetrical neckline.  This dress has a cool ruching detail on the skirt.  This dress has teardrop cutouts along the neckline.  And this dress is about as basic as they come.

Plus size?  Try this cowl neck dress, this v-neck flare dress or this simple shift.

Look for Less

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
