I’m preparing for a midterm, so just one post today.  Back tomorrow.

***

1) How to master the fine art of the follow-up to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

2) Old Navy keeps making the most amazing bags.  This red satchel is the perfect pop of color for your winter wardrobe.

3) Harvard Business Review examines the end of expertise.

4) Who needs suits? Dillard’s is the place to go.  I love this sleek herringbone suit and this deep burgundy pant suit. (Yes, I liked a pair of pants.  Shocker.)

5) Remember the NYT article about overworked Amazon employees? It may not have been the fair and unbiased journalism it purported to be.

6) Picture frames are so pricey.  Luckily, I found this classic white frame and this trendy gold frame at Target for a song.

7) This science behind picking the right music to listen to at work.

8) I cannot wait to try these acne treatment dots (read: skin stickers) from Peter Thomas Roth.

9) TBD offers tips on covering puffy, dark eyes.  I’m intrigued in the Tom Ford Correcting Pen she uses.

10) This hidden closure leopard belt is so cool.  I also like the look of this modern knotted belt, both from Banana Republic.  And do not miss this chic infinity belt from Ann Taylor.

11) The former dean of Stanford University believes ‘helicopter parenting’ is ruining our kids, and she has some suggestions for how to fix the problem.

Eye Candy. Tales of my David Yurman obsession are well-known.  Looking at this rose gold and diamond ring, it’s not hard to see why my passions burn so bright.

Let us know how those acne treatment dots work!

    • Natalie says:

I used them and was really pleased with the results. It doesn’t work 100% overnight but it looks better the next day and overall time frame of visibility is cut way down (half time time or less). It does dry out the area around it a little but overall, I highly recommend!!!

  2. Nashira says:

So, my nice slacks don’t have belt loops. Do y’all think it would be possible to pair them with a belt, for form not function, or would that look silly? I really like the knot belt linked here, but I’m terrible at accessorizing. Plus er, I am a very tall ladyperson and it isn’t as simple as “well buy pants with belt loops then.”

  3. Ashleigh says:

Instead of spending $30 on those dots, you can just go to Target or CVS and get hydrocolloid bandages. They work exactly the same and are so much cheaper. The only caveat is that you’ll have to cut the bandages to size and get a diabetic lancet to hygienically lance the zit so it can suck out the pus.

  4. Gabby says:

I pick up all my photo frames these days (unless they’re weird sizes) at secondhand stores. They’re so expensive new and look just as good second hand. I got a Restoration Hardware one for $3 at the thrift store this weekend!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
